The Council of Property Search Organisations is the leading trade association representing the private property search industry in the UK. Each year, CoPSO members provide over 2.5m search reports as part of the home buying process providing important information which consumers use when deciding whether to buy a property. This information covers matters such as environmental contamination, mining works, chancel repair liabilities, nearby road or traffic schemes, together with drainage and water connections.
CoPSO is looking for a new Chairman & Chief Executive to lead the organisation and to present the industry’s position to Government, stakeholders, regulators, the media and opinion formers. In addition to the development of policy and associated lobbying activity, the Chairman & Chief Executive will support member companies in the continued development of the industry’s Search Code which promotes high standards of practice and in ensuring that sector is at the forefront of change with the introduction of e-conveyancing and Home Information Packs.
