Annual Conference 2006
Building Confidence and Capability
Wednesday 6 December 2006
Royal Society of Arts
8 John Adam Street
London WC2
The conference will focus on the main issues currently affecting the search industry and uniquely brings together search organisations, HIP providers, the major stakeholders and Government to debate these. With speakers from both industry and government , the conference programme reinforces how important the efficient delivery of searches will be to the Government’s home buying reforms. The sessions will cover:
- How and when will local authorities provide access to all the data required for a local search and what charges will be imposed?
- What is the future for the private local search sector under this new regime and will the abolition of prescribed fees alter the dynamics and force consolidation in the market?
- How will more NLIS channels and the introduction of e-conveyancing affect both the search market and the home buying process?
- Will the PSI Regulations help search companies gain better access to public sector data and could the OFT’s new Market Study into the re-use of public data assist in delivering improved access? Could this attract new players to the industry?
- Can the Search Code drive improved standards and how is it viewed by lenders, conveyancers and HIP providers? Why should search providers support the Code?
